Why I changed my views on Isolation Exercises

As someone who worked predominately with athletes most of my career - I used to look down upon isolation exercises.
.
But now that I’m older and wiser-erπŸ™ƒ, I realize everything has its place. And for me, isolation exercises have found their place - not only at the end of my workouts - but also at the BEGINNING.
.
Here’s why I like performing some isolation movements early in my workout [BEFORE my main lift]:
.
βœ… MY JOINTS FEEL BETTER
increased blood flow/pump from the isolation movements have a “protective” affect around joints
.
βœ… MAKE LIGHT(ER) WEIGHTS FEEL HEAVIER
I don’t need to train as heavy to get a training affect (less potential for injury)
.
βœ… HYPERTROPHY GAINS
See “pre-exhaust training” benefits
.
βœ… IMPROVED WORK CAPACITY
Your body adapts to performing your main lifts/compound movements at the end of your workout - so you’re eventually able to handle the same weights (while fatigued) that you used to lift while “fresh”
